Meet Devon
Devon cassidy: OWNER, NOURISH & BLOOM WELLNESS
Hi there and welcome!
I’m so happy you stumbled across my page, let me introduce myself! My name is Devon. I am a functional nutritionist with my masters in nutrition and certification as a Restorative Wellness Practitioner. I specialize in gut health and hormone balance. I’m wildly passionate about food, women’s wellness and helping you get to the root cause of whatever is holding you back from thriving in health.
Fun fact; I haven’t always been a nutritionist. I got my bachelors in nursing and was a full time nurse up until 2021. I love helping and caring for people but became so burnt out by the medical system both physically and mentally. I couldn’t bear giving people their quick fix of conventional medicine any longer and knew deep down this wasn’t addressing the underlying issue. I personally struggled with severe insomnia from night shifts which turned into gut health, hormone imbalance and mental health issues. I needed my own answers and I wanted a better understanding for how I can support my own body using a holistic approach and food as medicine.
I received my masters in nutrition from Bastyr University. The nutrition program there was a pioneer of it’s time. We spent 75% of our “class time” cooking in the kitchen, learning how to use food therapeutically. When I graduated, I had so much knowledge about nutrition but no experience on how to apply it clinically to really begin helping people…I felt lost! I was still struggling with my own health and searching for answers that weren’t quite resolved.
I then discovered the Restorative Wellness Solutions program. RWS provided me with all of the tools and confidence to utilize functional nutrition lab testing and healing protocols. These tools help to identify imbalances in the body so we can properly support those imbalances with personalized diet and healing plans…AHA moment!
This was the turning point in my career as a nutritionist and healthcare professional.
I put into practice what I learned and could not believe the results I achieved through my own protocol. My gut was healing, my hormones were back in action and I was finally sleeping through the night without any aids; you can imagine what this did for my mental health! It was a domino affect of finally feeling GOOD.
I hope to help you in this way too. I want to help you uncover what is holding you back from feeling your best self, from enjoying the foods or the life you once loved. I want more women to realize the healing power of nature combined with a positive mindset is incomparable to any drug or medical procedure out there.
On this platform I hope to curate a healing space for women to reclaim their feminine energy and unlock their full potential.
So are you ready to get to the root, pull out the weeds and plant the seeds you need to heal, nourish, and thrive? If so, I would love to guide you through the process!
